MB GPW G503 WWII Military Jeep Oil Bath Air Filter conversion to Dry Air Filter WW2 Restoration
This article shows how to use a more modern method of keeping your air clean to your carburaetor. Cleaning the oil out of the air filter and adding three pieces can give you a better, cleaner method of air to your engine to burn.

1. One common modification to your WWII jeep configuration is to change the Oil Bath air filter to a more modern efficient Dry air filter. Here we show you the common parts needed to make this change. Note: this configuration will work with non-pancake air filters from early 1942 to 1945. |

2. First you need to clean out your oil bath air filter unit. Remove all oil, and clean well with a degreaser. |

3. You need three parts, (1) Air Filter, (2) Rubber Gaskets. First you can get the air filter #2036 for about $8 from Napa. Then you need Sponge Rubber rings 3" x 4" x 3/4" from McMaster Carr #2793K81 which are about $3 each. |

4. To install, you place one of the sponge rings at the bottom of the air filter. |

5. Next, place the air filter on top of the sponge ring you just installed |

6. Place the final ring on top of the filter |

7. Place the Air Filter housing over the items you just installed and fasten the clips to the unit. Its now ready to use! |
